Supported Living Services
Supported Living Services is designed much in the same manner as Independent Living Services. The only difference being that clients receiving Supported Living Services require more hours of service and support than is allotted for Independent Living. Supported Living can provide up to 24-hour care and support, should it be needed.
In Supported Living Services, ACT takes the same individualized, holistic, and integrative perspective as it does in Independent Living Services, seeking to ensure that all choices made are directed by the client so that they can live a lifestyle of their choosing. |
Just like with Independent Living, ACT supports its Supported Living clients through offering support and training in the areas of independent living skills, self-advocacy (personal rights), personal growth (self-esteem, exercising personal choices), parenting (ensuring a safe and healthy environment for clients’ children), and community integration (promoting where clients live, work, play, and their interaction with their community).

Respite ServicesRespite services provide a much needed break to the parents and caretakers of adults and children with developmental / intellectual disabilities. Caring for an individual with a disability can be a full time job, and it is the aim of Respite Services to ease that burden and allow time for the parent or caretaker to attend to needed errands or merely have a moment for themselves. ACT provides non-medical, supervised care to its Respite clients and aims to meet any of the needs provided by the family or caretakers.
Some areas of need, but in no way exclusive, that Respite Services can meet are:
